Guardians of the Galaxy 2 watch party: Biggest revelations made by James Gunn

James Gunn shared some fascinating details in a Twitter watch party about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Filmmaker James Gunn has arranged a watch party on his Twitter account for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. While watching the movie with fans he made some fascinating discoveries.

Here are some of the disclosures:

Instead of Star-Lord, Kurt Russell kept naming Chris Pratt Star Wars

James Gunn revealed that Kurt Russell, who played the role of primary antagonist Ego in the film, kept calling Chris Pratt Star Wars instead of Pratt’s character’s actual name — Star-Lord or Peter Quill. Gunn tweeted, “In this sequence, Kurt Russell kept calling @prattpratt” Star Wars, “rather than Star-Lord. He was not able to get that out of his mind! The job with Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone has overwhelmed Gunn

Acting with his childhood idols Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone had been frustrating for Gunn. Although the former played Ego, the latter appeared as a Ravager in a cameo.

Ego was both a theme and a character in the film

James Gunn said the Galaxy Vol 2 Guardians had both an Ego with a capital E and an ego, with a small e. Though Ego was the bad guy, the protagonists managed their own egos, too.

By Nebula and Gamora Gunn decided to tell the story of sisters

Saying that seeing the tale of two sisters in big adventure films isn’t normal, Gunn said that’s exactly what he wanted to do in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Chris Sullivan (Toby of This is Us) had Taserface cameo

Remind you of Taserface? Chris Sullivan, also known for playing Toby in This is Us, played the character who had been laughed at by Rocket and could not bear it.

In Atlanta the forest on Berhert was built on a sound stage

Consider the Berhert thick forest on the arrival of the Guardians. It was constructed on a sound stage in Atlanta, a town popular with Hollywood big-budget productions.

Ego talking about its past was the most complicated because of the publicity

James Gunn says the most difficult scene to do in the movie was Ego explaining his past to the Guardians, mostly because there was a lot of show.

When Gamora’s fate was determined Gunn was involved

The debate about the fate of Zoe Saldana’s Gamora included James Gunn. Ultimately the Russos, who were in charge of the last two Avengers movies, determined that Thanos should sacrifice Gamora to receive the Soul Stone.
